Woodside Pluto Train 2 Case Study: Mining Village Connectivity & Entertainment
R‑Group was engaged by Woodside as a preferred supplier for the Pluto Train 2 project in Karratha, delivering communications infrastructure, village entertainment systems and CCTV services for the project’s workers’ accommodation village.
Supporting up to 2,500 personnel, R‑Group deployed a high‑performance Active Ethernet network as the core backbone for wireless connectivity and village entertainment services. This solution enables reliable internet access, content streaming and communication services, allowing personnel to stay connected with family and friends while working remotely.
The project also included the deployment of CCTV and a centralised Chromecast management system, supported by 24/7 network monitoring and support in line with project SLAs. The result is a reliable, scalable and future‑ready solution that delivers a “home away from home” experience while meeting Woodside’s operational standards and long‑term requirements.
